President Joe Biden recently spoke with President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, offering condolences for the devastating floods in northeastern Nigeria. He also expressed gratitude for Tinubu's leadership in securing the release of American citizen and former U.S. law enforcement official Tigran Gambaryan. The two leaders discussed the valuable partnership between the U.S. and Nigeria, focusing on cooperation in law enforcement, innovative technologies, and reforming international organizations to amplify African voices. 

Their conversation highlighted the Bilateral Liaison Group on Illicit Finance and Cryptocurrencies, a newly established initiative aimed at combating financial crimes. President Biden appreciated Nigeria's collaboration on security and prosperity across multiple sectors, underscoring the importance of their partnership in addressing global chchallenges
