PRESIDENT GENERAL MWUN, COMRADE BUNU HOSTS BOAN EXECUTIVES ON COURTESY VISIT
The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), led by President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi has pledged the union’s strong commitment to synergize with barge operators as part of measures to boost seamless movement of cargoes across in Nigeria .
Bunu who recently hosted executives from the Barge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN) at the MWUN Secretariat in Lagos made this known in a statement.
According to a statement signed by Head of Media MWUN, Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna over the weekend, the visit, led by BOAN Vice President Mr. Hyginus Chichebem Ndukwe, was both a congratulatory call on Comrade Bunu’s recent election victory .
During the meeting, Mr. Chichebem expressed BOAN’s readiness to partner with MWUN, emphasizing the potential benefits of working together given the union’s significant role in Nigeria’s maritime industry.
He said part of the visit was to explore collaborative opportunities in the maritime sector among the two groups.
Comrade Bunu warmly received the delegation, affirming MWUN’s openness to genuine partnerships within the industrial sector and promising to foster a strong working relationship once formal proposals are developed.
Comrade Bunu, thanked BOAN for the visit and reiterated MWUN’s commitment to collaboration for mutual benefit in advancing the maritime industry.
